Barnsley Council highways work taking place in Dunford Bridge

From week commencing 19 April for a period of up to three weeks, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council will be undertaking some works in the highway to assist with preparation for National Grid’s Visual Impact Provision project.

This will involve some resurfacing of the carriageway in three locations including:

  • At the entrance to Dunford Bridge car park
  • Immediately to the north east of the junction between Dunford Road and Brook Hill Lane
  • On the bend of Brook Hill Lane to the north east of the Townhead Collective

These works will be carried out in sections and managed under temporary traffic lights. At no stage will the road be fully closed or diverted, and access will be maintained for all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

Barnsley Council’s team will also be installing new pole mounted road signs as part of these works, which will include new speed limit restrictions between the A628 and along Goddard Lane, Windle Edge and Brook Hill Lane to Carlecotes.

We would like to reassure road users and residents that throughout these works access to homes and businesses along the road will be maintained.
